The iMasons Climate Accord and its members are working to ensure data center development and environmental impact are not at odds. One of the most important levers is decarbonizing the supply chains to ensure that new equipment inputs are designed for efficiency and circularity.
Each step in a company’s sustainability journey relies on close engagement with suppliers. Key stakeholders, such as data center developers, owners, and operators, can help suppliers understand their environmental impacts, how to measure and report them, and how to address them through decarbonization, efficiency, and circularity.
In this paper, the iMasons Climate Accord Equipment Working Group (iCA-EWG) describes industry decarbonization efforts underway to engage our shared supply chain including the types of data that operators should request and how to evaluate the data provided by suppliers. We also reference the many resources available to support data center operators with this process.
