Objectives

The ultimate target for signatories of the iMasons Climate Accord is Net Zero Carbon as defined by the Paris Agreement

The iMasons Climate Accord will provide tools and resources to leverage the industry’s collective expertise, leadership, and buying power in the pursuit of this goal.

Our objectives were established for members to follow and support.

OBJECTIVE 1

A Company Climate Strategy

Establish an organizational-level strategy to track and reduce carbon footprint.

  1. Measure and report GHG Emissions, including Scope 1, 2, and all relevant Scope 3 categories.
  2. Set a strategy aligned to Net Zero that defines the path with related milestones.
  3. Publicly report on annual progress.
OBJECTIVE 2

Company Purchases

Reward the selection of low-Greenhouse Gas (GHG) material and equipment through updated proposals, contract language, and specifications that address:

  1. Process or methodology for estimating Scope 3 GHG and carbon data.
  2. Sharing of Greenhouse Gas Assessments (GHG Assessments), Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), and/or other 3rd party verified environmental documentation. Incorporate this request in the procurement process.
  3. Sharing these (GHG Assessments, EPDs, etc.) or additional carbon data in any public repository with the aim of making embodied carbon data open and accessible to all.
OBJECTIVE 3

Company Sales

Products

For companies providing equipment and materials, member representatives should review the products their company sells in the categories of: Power, HVAC, Rack, IT and Building Systems.

Extract these products and communicate transparently.

  1. Share products with EPDs, communicating which are publicly available and a timeline for products that do not yet have EPDs.
  2. A plan for driving embodied carbon reduction by product.

Services

For companies providing services, calculate the emissions related to the services sold using the GHG Protocol’s supplier specific, or hybrid method.

Use this data for open communication.

  1. Report total emissions generated by providing services.
  2. Explain exact process, calculation, or method used to calculate these emissions.
  3. Provide a plan for driving reductions.
